Schedules are subject to the shooting schedule of each production and will be determined during pre-production depending on the needs of each project.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Metadata Cine is looking for a multi-skilled Dailies Operator to join our team on a per project basis. This is a very varied position and responsibilities vary from project to project. You could be asked to work on your own, as part of a larger team or on multiple projects, so clear communication is vital. Working hours and location also depend on the project, as you may be required to travel with a production, work near the set or in our Santo Domingo office. On a normal shift, a Dailies Operator may perform some or all of the following tasks, depending on the project.
MAIN TASKS:
- Download, verify and log original camera files and audio from a variety of media.
- Organize and tag clips according to camera reports, script and continuity notes.
- Synchronize sound and adjust as needed.
- Apply CDLs and LUTs where required and compare to supplied stills.
- Quality Control (QC) of digital clips against footage and report on problems encountered.
- Render, check, prepare and upload deliveries according to project specifications.
- Prepare LTO copies of all filmed material.
- Communicate directly with relevant external departments with any questions or issues that arise during the dailies process.
- Escalate inquiries internally as needed through the appropriate channels.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- The ideal candidate will have experience on at least 2-3 recent projects with responsibilities related to the position. Clear and concise communication and exceptional attention to detail is a must, as you will be expected to review your own work for errors.
- A working knowledge of digital film camera workflows is essential, along with a good understanding of post production and general color workflows.
- You should have experience with Resolve, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere along with delivery services such as Aspera, MediaSilo, Frame.IO or PIX using Mac OS.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must as well as the ability to find quick solutions to immediate problems caused by both hardware and software.
- Excellent work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure and to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer-facing skills.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must.
